HELLO I'M CLAIRE
I LOVE TO BRING PEOPLE AND CULTURE TOGETHER.
Book Week Scotland
In 2011 the Scottish Government announced that there would be a national week of celebration of books, reading and writing in Scotland. Book Week Scotland is now a major national annual event in Scotland, as well as one of Creative Scotland's flagship projects.
As the originating project manager of the first ever Book Week Scotland, I was involved in planning, developing and programming activities for the week with hundreds of partnerships across Scotland, including libraries, bookshops, publishers, unions, prisons, cultural venues, charities and community groups.
I was also a key contributor to the development of a new brand and marketing and audience development strategy for the week.
The first ever Book Week Scotland included a national programme of events including partnerships with the National Museum of Scotland, Canongate Publishing, Summerhall, Edinburgh International Book Festival, Edinburgh City of Literature Trust, BBC Radio Scotland, CCA Glasgow, Dundee Contemparary Arts, Scottish Refugee Council, Glasgow Women's Library, Scottish Poetry Library, Glasgow's Mitchell Library and many more. As well as originating the strategy for the week, I also devised and project managed some special projects including the Reading Murals on libraries and the Book Sculpture Treasure Hunt to inspire people to get involved in Book Week Scotland.
