ABOUT
ABOUT ME
WHAT I'VE DONE
WHAT I'M UP TO NOW
I am a writer, and creative industries consultant and leader based in Edinburgh, Scotland. I am passionate about values-based, strategic planning to support excellence in organisations and projects that do good work in the world. My specialist knowledge, experience and networks in the arts & cultural sector, combined with a broad range of work across other sectors, gives me a unique approach & insight. In my spare time I like to make electronic and analogue music, read, travel and meet new people (it's the Glaswegian in me).
Formerly I was Director of Creative Edinburgh & wrote their 3 year business plan & successful Creative Scotland Regular Funding application. I was also lead applicant & co-created the successful £5m Creative Informatics funding bid for the City of Edinburgh, with University of Edinburgh & CodeBase. I have led cultural organisations through transformational change & growth, & worked on several multi-million euro EU-funded collaborative projects with partners from across Europe. Over the past 10 years, I have worked on strategies to support organisations from across the spectrum of culture, education & public life. You can read more about these in my projects & work portfolio below.
Currently I'm working on an exciting project for The Parliament Project - an organisation that is getting more wormen from more backgrounds into political office, and carrying out strategic consultancy for some very interesting arts organisations. I am working on the development of some exciting new ventures which will be launching this year. I run the Women in the Arts Scotland online networks with a brilliant team of women. And I am writing a novel which is set in Victorian Edinburgh, in 1890. If you are interested in any of these projects, or have a project you'd like to discuss, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
